Sliding Scale: The Green Bottle Method

We believe that healing bodywork should be accessible, and that our skilled therapists deserve a thriving wage. To balance these two values, we utilize a sliding scale based on the "Green Bottle" method of economic justice.

Please review the descriptions below to determine which tier best matches your current financial reality. We ask that you select your tier honestly. By choosing the highest tier you can afford, you directly support our therapists' livelihood and ensure that the community tier remains available for those who truly need it.

Standard Rate: Bellingham $120/60min. Seattle $130/60min.

This rate is a slight discount for those who are stressed about meeting basic needs but still have access to consistent income. This is for you if you:

• May stress about meeting basic needs but regularly achieve them.

• Have some debt but it does not prohibit attainment of basic needs.

• Have access to steady income.

• Are able to buy some new items and thrift others.

• Can take a vacation annually or every few years without financial burden.

Supported Rate: Bellingham $100/60min. Seattle $110/60min.

This rate is heavily subsidized by the Pay It Forward tier to keep bodywork accessible to our community members experiencing financial hardship. This rate is for you if you:

• Frequently stress about meeting basic needs and don't always achieve them.

• Have debt that prohibits attainment of basic needs.

• Rent lower-end housing or have unstable housing.

• Do not have a savings account or financial safety net.

• Qualify for government assistance (food stamps, Medicaid, etc.).

• Have little or no expendable income.

Pay It Forward: Bellingham $140/60min. Seattle $150/60min.

This rate reflects the cost of the service while also supporting our ability to provide care at our supported rate. This rate is for you if you:

• Own the home you live in, or rent comfortably by choice.

• Have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited wealth.

• Travel recreationally.

• Have access to family money or resources in times of need.

• Work part-time by choice.

• Have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education, gender, or racial privilege.
